Here comes the official news from the runner-up of the Indian Premier League 2018, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). They came up with their retained players list for the upcoming IPL 2019 edition. Surprisingly, they left out Wriddhiman Saha, Windies skipper, Carlos Brathwaite and also their last-minute recruit in IPL 2018, Alex Hales for the upcoming season.
The biggest surprise is the retention of Manish Pandey. A section of people had expected SRH would release him for the upcoming season and grab him again for the low price. However, it wasn’t the case.
The franchise relied their trust on him for the upcoming season despite the poor show in IPL 2018. Meanwhile, the discarded David Warner also retained by the squad and most probably, he will get back his captaincy duties as well.

Yusuf Pathan also retained:
Yet another major surprise is the retention of Yusuf Pathan. The muscular hitter of the ball seems to be unfit in the previous edition. However, the franchise backed him for yet another season alongside Mohammad Nabi.
Chris Jordan is another foreign player, who has been released from the squad. Surprisingly, they left out Bipul Sharma and Mehidy Hasan as well. Sachin Baby has been the other major exclusion from the side.

As far as the trading is concerned, Hyderabad bagged the services of Vijay Shankar, Shahbaz Nadeem and Abhishek Sharma in return by releasing Shikhar Dhawan to Delhi Daredevils. Kane Williamson and Billy Stanlake also hold their place in the squad.
In total, SRH has retained 17 players for the IPL 2019. Coming to the exclusion list, they have named nine players. All in all, it seems like Sunrisers Hyderabad has made the calculative risks before heading into the upcoming IPL 2019 auctions.
