Unlike every year, this time, the officials set to organise Indian Premier League at the start of the year. Especially, with ICC World Cup 2019 around the corner. Initially, it was expected that the tournament would be shifted due to the elections. However, they figured out a way to make it happen in India itself.

Chennai Super Kings will start the tournament as the defending champions in the 12th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2019). The upcoming IPL tournament will see selective foreign players from each franchise leaving from the middle of the tournament due to the national duty.
