Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) once again had an awful season in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and became the first team to bow out of the tournament. As the tournament inches towards its business end, Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers vouched to come back stronger in the next IPL.

Bangalore got off to the worst possible start to this season. They lost six matches on a trot before tasting some victory in the second half of the tournament. Royal Challengers Bangalore tasted their first win against Kings XI Punjab to secure the first points before going down against Mumbai Indians. The arrival of fast bowler Dale Steyn changed the course as the Virat Kohli-led side to register three straight wins over Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab. However, they went down against Delhi Capitals by 16 runs before sharing a point with Rajasthan Royals to bow out of the tournament.

Ahead of the final game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers gave a video message posted by Royal Challengers Bangalore’s official Twitter handle. The two senior cricketers apologised to the fans for thier dismal run and vouched to come back stronger in the upcoming edition.

AB de Villiers thanked the fans for turning out in number to lend their support. He said that the last game against Rajasthan Royals which cut was short due to rain was his favourite game. Virat Kohli admitted that the ongoing season has been a tough one for them and promised them to come out as a better team in the next season.
