MS Dhoni is yet to speak on Suresh Raina’s sensational departure from UAE last month. The southpaw had attended the pre-season camp in Chennai before accompanying the team to UAE. However, he left his franchise stunned by deciding to return to India, citing personal reasons.

At a time when the franchise was dealing with a spate of positive COVID-19 cases, Raina dealt another blow to them. Soon after his departure, CSK boss N Srinivasan had slammed the batsman while also hinting about a possible rift between the left-hander and MS Dhoni.

Later, Raina as well as Srinivasan tried to do the damage control as the former insisted he pulled out of IPL 2020 only because of personal reasons. There were reports that he was unhappy with the room provided to him and wanted a room like MS Dhoni’s.

A dig at Suresh Raina?:

MS Dhoni is yet to respond publicly about Raina’s departure. But it looks like the CSK captain took a sly dig at him on Saturday following the game against Mumbai Indians. Speaking at the end of the game, MS Dhoni lauded IPL for all the arrangement before saying that ‘as cricketers we easily criticize stuff’.

“It is an amazing job done by the IPL, especially ones behind the scenes. To make it happen there are a hundred different things; as cricketers we easily criticize stuff,” MS Dhoni said.

“To have the practice facilities like these at the ICC academy were fantastic. Unless you get practice facilities you won’t play well in a tournament like this,” the 39-year-old added.

Well, CSK didn’t really miss Raina in their tournament-opener as they thrashed the defending champions by five wickets. Faf du Plessis batted at number three and scored an unbeaten 58 while sharing a stand of 115 runs with Ambati Rayudu (71) as CSK recovered from 6 for 2 to chase down 162 with four balls remaining.
