English all-rounder Ben Stokes has heaped high praise on the Indian leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal after the latter showed his cricketing brilliance once again on Monday. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by a huge margin of 82 runs in match 28 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020).
The two teams collided at the Sharjah International Cricket Stadium where the average 1st innings score in the first 6 games played this season was 219 runs. Winning the toss, RCB skipper Virat Kohli elected to bat first. AB de Villiers, the superman, ran the show in the first innings as he smashed a scintillating half-century and helped RCB finish on a strong total of 194-2 in their 20 overs.
Later, the RCB bowlers came down heavy on the KKR batsmen as the entire KKR batting line up could score only 112 runs in their 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets, and in this manner RCB recorded a gigantic win of 82 runs.
Ben Stokes Lauds Yuzvendra Chahal
Although Chris Morris and Washington Sundar were the pick of the bowlers last night for RCB as both the bowlers picked a couple of wickets each. However, English all-rounder Ben Stokes was impressed with Yuzvendra Chahal’s show. Chahal, although picked only 1 wicket, but he proved to be the most economical bowler for RCB last night. He gave away only 12 runs in his 4 overs and bowled with an economy of 3 runs per over that helped create pressure and helped the other bowlers pick crucial wickets.
Ben Stokes could do nothing but laud the Indian leggie for his incredible performance at the Sharjah Stadium where all the games so far have ended in high-scoring ties. It was surely a commendable effort from Chahal to bowl with an economy of 3 at such a venue.
Stokes took to Twitter and wrote, “In a batters game @yuzi_chahal should get MOM here, incredible figures especially as it’s in Sharjah”

Yuzvendra Chahal is on the 5th spot in the Purple Cap race this season as the leg-spinner has gone on to pick 10 wickets in the first 7 games so far. He could be RCB‘s key to success if they go on to win the IPL title this year and break the jinx.
