IPL 2020: Delhi Capitals Full Squad

In the forthcoming season of the IPL, Delhi Capitals will be looking to build on their fine performance in the last edition. The young side led by Shreyas Iyer exceeded all the expectations and made it to the playoffs. It was the first time since 2012 that the Delhi-based outfit progressed ahead of the league stage. And the team has now further bolstered itself with some smart business in the recently-concluded auction for IPL 2020.
With veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan not looking at his usual best in recent times, Delhi Capitals roped in England star and their former player Jason Roy. They also went as far as INR 10.50 Crore for Glenn Maxwell but eventually gave up on him. They, however, did not give up on West Indies star Shimron Hetmyer and secured his services by spending a staggering amount of INR 7.75 crore.

In other notable new faces, they also beefed up their all-rounders options by bringing in Chris Woakes (for base price of 1.50 Crore) as well as Marcus Stoinis (4.8 Crore). With Kagiso Rabada being the only overseas pacer in the team, Woakes looks set to play a major role for the team in the next season. The Delhi-based outfit further signed up Australia star Alex Carey who impressed one and all with his batting and wicketkeeping in this year’s World Cup.
Prior to the auction, the franchise had also traded in India stars Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane from Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals respectively. Delhi Capitals have a solid squad on the paper and will be one of the favourites for the next season.
