The 2020 season of the Indian Premier League [IPL] saw a plethora of little-known cricketers unleash their talent in front of the entire world.
But it also saw many known celebrated faces endure a horror time, which not had ramifications on their stock as a player but also on their team as a whole.
Here’s a look at the flop XI of IPL 2020:
Prithvi Shaw
The talented batsman was constantly worked over by the fast bowlers paving the way to register three ducks and multiple single-digit scores before eventually getting dropped from the playing 11.
Overall, Shaw managed 228 runs in 13 innings at an average of 17.54 and a strike-rate of 136.53.
Aaron Finch

This season once again proved that Aaron Finch- the International opener- and Aaron Finch- An IPL opener- are two completely different identities.
Finch, who was featuring for his 8th IPL franchise- Royal Challenger Bangalore- once again failed to live up to his billing as he endured yet another disappointing campaign.
Finch managed just 268 runs in 12 innings at an average of 22.33 and a strike-rate of 111.20 with just one 50+ score.
Glenn Maxwell
Maxwell has been underwhelming in the IPL since his breakout season with the same franchise in 2014 but even the most vocal critic of the Australian all-rounder wouldn’t have imagined that the mercurial cricketer will struggle in the manner that he did.
Bought at a hefty price of Rs 10.75 Crore, Maxwell managed a mere 108 runs in 11 innings at an average of 15.43 and a dismal strike-rate of 101.89. But the most damning stat from Maxwell’s campaign was that he did not manage to smash a single six throughout the season.
An entire IPL season without Maxwell hitting a six? Outrageous, right? But then it’s 2020!
Dinesh Karthik

The 2020 season will undoubtedly be the one that Dinesh Karthik will like to forget as soon as possible.
Karthik, who came into the tournament as the captain of the team, relinquished his duties midway following a significant pressure that mounted on him due to his on-field tactics, the make-up of the batting order, and his own form.
Karthik, even when he wasn’t the captain, continued to bat in the top-order for a majority of the tournament with repeated failures. When he did bat lower down the order, Karthik showed his class but that was on limited instances.
Overall, DK managed 169 runs in 14 innings at an average of 14.08 and a strike-rate of 126.12.
MS Dhoni (C)

One of the many things that fans as well as pundits were looking forward to seeing was how the recently retired MS Dhoni would perform both as a batsman as well as a leader.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be a nightmarish dream as the champion MSD looked a pale shadow as both batsman but also as a captain.
While he failed to turn up the heat with his bat- 200 runs in 14 innings at an average of 25 and a strike-rate of 116.28- his reluctance to drop the non-performing seniors in favor of youngsters and his statement ‘we did not see the spark in youngsters’ left a sour taste in the mouth.
Kedar Jadhav
Jadhav’s lack of intent mirrored that of CSK’s but despite his repeated failures, the middle-order batsman continues to get consistent opportunities.
In 5 innings, Jadhav managed a mere 62 runs at an average of 20.67 and a strike-rate of 93.94.
Andre Russell
But unfortunately, the West Indian swashbuckler failed to live up to his billing with the bat. Russell was consistently troubled by pace bowlers like Kagiso Rabada, Jasprit Bumrah, and T Natarajan with their hard-lengths.
Russell managed just 117 runs in 9 innings at an average of 13 besides claiming 6 wickets at 29.17.
Sunil Narine
In nine innings, Narine managed a mere 121 runs at an average of 13.44 besides managing just 5 wickets at 60.4.
Navdeep Saini

Navdeep Saini had his moments in IPL 2020. He bowled a magnificent super-over against Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard to help RCB seal a brilliant win.
But post that game, it all went downhill for the talented fast bowler. Saini managed just six wickets in 13 games at an average of 63.17 and at an economy rate of 8.3.
Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna did not make the most of the opportunities that he got this season. Not only did he prove to be expensive but he also failed to grab the breakthroughs.
Krishna featured in six games in which he managed just 4 wickets at an average of 41 and an economy rate of 9.37
Ankit Rajpoot
Rajpoot featured in 6 games in which he gave away 199 runs in a mere 17 overs at an average of 99.50 and at an economy rate of 11.70, claiming just two wickets in return.
