IPL 2020: Full Schedule, Timing And Venue Of Mumbai Indians (MI)

Defending champions Mumbai Indians will start their title defence in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 on March 29 when they take on Chennai Super Kings in a blockbuster clash at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The game will be a rematch of last year’s final when Mumbai beat the Super Kings to lift the IPL for a record fourth time.

The Mumbai-based outfit will play seven home and seven away games. Their last league game will be on May 17 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru. The Rohit Sharma-led side will be the favourites for the title once again, having won it four times in the last seven years.

In the last auction, they made a number of smart buys after releasing 12 players and retaining the core of the team including veteran fast-bowler Lasith Malinga. Among the notable players who were released by the reigning champions were Evin Lewis, Jason Behrendoff and Alzarri Joseph .

Ahead of the auction, Mumbai Indians had traded in Dhawal Kulkarni, Trent Boult and Sherfane Rutherford. Going into the auction, the franchise had the option of filling up slots for five domestic and two foreign players. In the auction, they roped in hard-hitting opener Chris Lynn before re-signing??Saurabh Tiwary.

In order to bolster their already strong bowling line up, Mumbai shelled out a whopping amount of INR 8 crore to buy Australia star Nathan Coulter-Nile. Their two other buys were Mohsin Khan, Digvijay Deshmukh.
