Sunrisers Hyderabad pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar suffered yet another injury setback on Friday during the clash against Chennai Super Kings. Bowling his final over, the right-arm pacer pulled up before delivering his second ball and eventually decided to walk off the field after receiving treatment on the field.

The India star tried to stretch his leg and returned to his bowling mark before aborting his run-up once more. He was soon attended by the team-physio and had his leg strapped. However, it did not make much of a difference as he pulled up for a third time and made it clear it was tough for him to bowl anymore.

He straightaway limped off the field as Khaleel Ahmed completed the over which was the 19th of the innings. Abdul Samad then defended 28 runs in the final over as Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Chennai Super Kings by seven runs to register their second win of IPL 2020.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be hoping that the injury is not serious after having suffered a spate of injuries in recent times. Last year during the World Cup too, he had to miss few games after he suffered a hamstring injury during the group stage clash against Pakistan.

After that, he picked up a side strain during the tour of West Indies in August and had to go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for rehabilitation. The injury had ruled him out of the T20Is against South Africa and Bangladesh before returning to the team for the T20I series against West Indies towards the end of the year.

But he was sidelined again after being diagnosed with a sports hernia post the T20I series and consequently missed the entire tour of New Zealand as well as the home series against Australia.
