IPL 2020: It's My Responsibility To Return The Favors- Imran Tahir On Carrying Drinks For Other Chennai Super Kings Players

Veteran Proteas leg-spinner and one of the legendary figures of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Imran Tahir, has opened up on him carrying drinks for other CSK players this season. It is notable that even after holding the distinction of having the Purple Cap in IPL 2019, Imran Tahir hasn’t made his debut for Chennai Super Kings in the tournament so far.

CSK have faced a lot of flak for their decision of not including Tahir in the first eleven, especially when they have lost a lot of match in the first half of the season. In the first 8 games played so far, Chennai Super Kings have gone on to win only 3 games and with a match-winner like Imran Tahir warming the bench for the first 8 games, questions are bound to arise on the team management.

On Tuesday, before the game against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), CSK skipper MS Dhoni expressed his helplessness of not being able to include Tahir in the scheme of things.

Imran Tahir has now himself opened up on the entire scenario after a lot of fans have questioned CSK over their treatment of Tahir in the tournament so far. Imran has been carrying drinks for other players in the squad and the fans are all the more angry because of this very reason.

On Wednesday, Tahir took to Twitter and wrote, “When I used to play many players carried drinks for me now when deserved players are in the field it’s my duty do return favors.Its not about me playing or not it’s about my team winning.If I get a chance I will do my best but for me team is important”

CSK Soaring High In Confidence

Chennai Super Kings will be on cloud nine after their last encounter with SunRisers Hyderabad as they won their third game of the tournament against SRH by 20 runs in Dubai. MS Dhoni, the skipper himself said that it was a near-perfect game and for CSK, the only way is the way ahead.

Although the points table remained stagnant after CSK’s win over SRH, CSK will gain a lot of confidence from hereon as they have to now make up for the loss that they have suffered from in the first half of the season.
