Fast-bowler Deepak Chahar has handed a big boost to Chennai Super Kings as he has confirmed he has recovered from coronavirus. The India pacer was among the 13 members from the CSK contingent who tested positive for COVID-19 last week. Along with him, batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad had tested positive too while 11 others were non-playing members.

Deepak Chahar, on Tuesday, took to Twitter to share the good news regarding his health. He posted a video on Twitter where he said he has recovered. The right-arm pacer also said he is hopeful of returning to action soon.

“Hello everyone, thank so much for wishes and prayers. I’ve recovered well and hopefully be in action soon. One more thing, never miss your leg day no matter where you are and what condition you are,” said Deepak Chahar.

Chennai Super Kings will be hoping that Deepak Chahar recovers fully as soon as possible. The pacer is an integral part of the team since 2018. His ability to bowl in the powerplays as well as in death overs has made him an asset for the three-time IPL champions.

In another good news for the Chennai Super Kings, all the players and staff members, except the 13 who were tested positive last week, have returned negative results. The test was carried out on Monday. They will now undergo another test before beginning training on Friday (September 4).

“All others, apart from the 13, have tested negative for Covid-19. They will have to undergo another test on Thursday, September 3. We are likely to start training on Friday, September 4,” CSK CEO KS Viswanathan said.

On the other hand, the previously tested positive staff and players are in a separate hotel and will be tested after their mandatory two week quarantine is over. IPL 2020 is scheduled to start on September 19 and Chennai Super Kings are likely to take on Mumbai Indians in the tournament-opener.
