Former Indian opener, Virender Sehwag is clearly unhappy and dejected with the way Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have played cricket in this year’s IPL so far. Virender Sehwag has lashed out at the Kolkata Knight Riders’ management and has advised a lot of changes for the team going forward in the tournament.
On Friday, Kolkata Knight Riders lost yet another game in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) as Mumbai Indians (MI) thrashed them by 8 wickets in Abu Dhabi. KKR failed to impress with the bat, ball, and on the field and the team looks in a serious problem as Dinesh Karthik left the captain’s seat mid-season for Eoin Morgan to focus more on his batting.
Virender Sehwag Lashes Out At Kolkata Knight Riders
After the game against Mumbai Indians, KKR have had to face a lot of flak from cricketers and fans alike as the Kolkata based franchise has continued the poor show in IPL 2020.
Adding to the list was Virender Sehwag who said, “It is very important for any captain to sit back with his team and ponder over the areas of concern that have been there in the games so far. The team should work on their positives and a strong decision should come forward in regard to the final eleven.”
“Everyone should be given a free mind to play and express themselves on the field because this team is currently looking like a bits-and-pieces side. The leader should lead from the front and take strong decisions. Shubman Gill should be advised to either attack in the powerplay or his batting position must be changed. It is very important to start on a strong note because if the foundation isn’t sturdy, the wall is bound to fall,” Virender Sehwag added.
On Friday, Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets to grab their 6th win of the season. Mumbai are on the top spot in the IPL 2020 points table while Kolkata are on the 4th place. KKR have been in a bit of turmoil ever since the season began and things are going from bad to worse with each game passing by.
