Kings XI Punjab will go head to head against the Mumbai Indians at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Thursday. The match is expected to be one hell of a contest with both teams winning one and losing two of their opening three matches. Two Indian openers, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma will be fighting against each other to come out on top in a match which is of equal importance to both the teams.
Kings XI Punjab have been brilliant with their batting in the tournament thus far. Openers Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul have been in red hot form with a century each to their names. While Rahul scored a magnificent 132 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Agarwal took charge against the Rajasthan Royals and staged a brilliant 106.
However, Kings XI Punjab will look to bounce back from the absolute hammering they faced against the Royals. Their bowlers were smashed all over the park by the likes of Sanju Samson and Rahul Tewatia, eventually losing the game.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have made a significantly poor start to their IPL 2020 campaign. Their last match went down to the wire and had to be decided in a super over. Unfortunately, the men in blue could only manage 7 runs in the deciding over which was easily chased down by the Bangalore side.
In a bid to challenge Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians will have to bowl at their very best. The Rohit Sharma-led side will have to try and restrict Punjab to a low total which might make things easy for their capable batsmen. But considering the recent form, it is Kings XI Punjab who is likely to win the game.
