We are moving towards the business end of the tournament and the 42nd game will see Delhi Capitals square off against the Kolkata Knight Riders in what is an extremely crucial encounter for the latter at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

Delhi Capitals are comfortably placed as far as qualification for the playoffs. Having secured 14 points after 10 games, the Shreyas Iyer-led unit needs just one victory in their next four games to seal the spot.

The Capitals, however, would be worried about the form of their batsmen and especially Prithvi Shaw. In the last game, Shikhar Dhawan scored 65 percent of the total runs, with the second-highest score being 14 by skipper Iyer and Rishabh Pant.

Delhi Capitals will hope that the likes of Prithvi Shaw at the top and Iyer, Pant, Shimron Hetmyer and Marcus Stoinis in the middle-over provide support to Shikhar Dhawan.

Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, are coming off a real hiding at the hands of rampant RCB after their batting-unit was knocked over by the record-breaking Mohammed Siraj.

Will Kolkata Knight Riders redeam themselves against the Delhi Capitals?

Kolkata Knight Riders batting has been abysmal throughout the season and it well and truly reached its nadir in the last game, where they managed a painstaking 8-84 after 20 overs.

Shubman Gill’s inability to bat at a rapid rate and the lack of returns by Rahul Tripathi and Nitish Rana has put a lot of pressure on the middle-order. On the other hand, the reluctance of Eoin Morgan to bat higher-up the order hasn’t really helped the sides’ cause. In the last game too, Morgan came in at No.6 when he really should have come much higher, considering that the batting-unit was falling like nine pins.

It will be interesting to see the approach of the Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen against DC. Another thing that will be intriguing to see if whether the management brings back Sunil Narine, who is now available for selection or do they persist with Tom Banton.
