In the Sunday mega clash, Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on the Chennai Super Kings in the match 44th of IPL 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. Both teams are coming off from contrasting results.

While RCB comfortably beat the Kolkata Knight Riders, CSK were blown away by the Mumbai pace attack. Earlier in the tournament when these sides met, RCB won the match by 37 runs courtesy of a Virat Kohli special. RCB would once again want to be on top of CSK and take strides towards securing their place in the top two.

Virat Kohli and his team handed KKR a demoralizing defeat as Mohammed Siraj wreaked havoc in the powerplay. While RCB’s bowling is looking set, their batting barring AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli is once again an issue of concern. The openers haven’t been consistent, and fringe players like Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Shivam Dube, and Chris Morris have had just a handful of opportunities with the bat.

The addition of Siraj and Isuru Udana in the same team is making the tail seem long with Sundar at number six. Meanwhile, there bowling has been exceptional; Sundar, Morris, and Siraj in the powerplay; Saini and Udana at different stages of the game; and Yuzvendra Chahal is always Virat Kohli’s trump card.

The three-time champions are practically ousted from the tournament. CSK have played well below expectations this season in all the departments on the field. Apart from all-rounder Sam Curran, and a few glimpses of brilliance by Faf du Plessis and Ravindra Jadeja, rest others have lacked the spark which the captain and coach have been talking about.

Their loss against Mumbai Indians epitomized their season where a lone warrior in Sam Curran scored a half-century, and as many as six batsmen got out in a single-digit score. Expect a couple of changes, for CSK to look for some intent from the players they might want to keep for next season.

RCB has built on momentum with a couple of big victories, and they are positioned on the third spot on the points table. With matches against MI and DC coming up, they would want to clinch another victory to be in contention for a top-two spot. Expect a strong RCB to walk all over a depleted CSK.
