Chennai Super Kings’ skipper in charge, MS Dhoni, has finally revealed as to when will Ambati Rayudu make a comeback for CSK in the tournament. Ambati Rayudu played the opening game of IPL 2020 for CSK against Mumbai Indians (MI) and scored a scintillating century. However, it came as a shocker to everyone when Rayudu was left out of the CSK squad in the second game against Rajasthan Royals.

Dhoni revealed that Rayudu was unfit for the game and hence, he had to be left out of the final eleven. This made way for the CSK debut of young, Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, he failed miserably on his IPL debut as went back to the dugout on a golden duck. Ambati Rayudu wasn’t included in the final eleven in CSK’s third game of IPL 2020 that took place against Delhi Capitals (DC).

IPL 2020: MS Dhoni Finally Reveals When Ambati Rayudu Will Make A Comeback For CSK In The Tournament

Ambati Rayudu’s absence in the CSK squad has become a major matter of concern for the Men in Yellow as their middle order has been exposed in the absence of Suresh Raina.

MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings, said in the post-match show, “I don’t think it was a good game for us. There was no dew, but the wicket did slow down. We are lacking a bit of steam in the batting and that hurts. The run rate keeps on mounting after such slow starts and adds pressure, we need to figure that out. We need to come back with a clearer picture, looking at the combination.”

“Maybe, the team balance will get better once Rayudu comes back in the next game. That will give us the room to experiment with an extra bowler perhaps. There are quite a few things we can think about. We are one batter extra to start off, so the players need to step up. We need to get better with our lengths, lines, and pace,” Dhoni added.

“I think the spinners have not come to the party yet. We are bowling good deliveries, but we are giving away the boundary deliveries bit too often. I’ll ask the players as there have been quite a few dropped catches. The players are not used to play under such lights, maybe the trajectory comes in the way. Now that you have said it, this can be an excuse for those dropped catches,” MS Dhoni concluded.

Chennai Super Kings Taste Yet Another Loss In IPL 2020

The IPL 2020 campaign has been bitter for Chennai Super Kings until now. After having tasted victory in the opening game of the tournament against Mumbai Indians, CSK have lost back to back games on the bounce. Their maiden loss in the tournament came on Matchday 4 when Rajasthan Royals beat them by 16 runs.

On Matchday 7, CSK just looked a shadow of their past in the game against Delhi Capitals. CSK have a week to rest before their next game on 02nd October against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and they will certainly look to fill the gaps in this period.
