Defending champions Mumbai Indians have secured the services of Australia star Chris Lynn. The opener was the first name to be auctioned and was sold at his base price if INR 2 crore. Mumbai Indians were in search of an opener after releasing their West Indian recruit Evin Lewis and they would be delighted with Chris Lynn’s arrival.

Chris Lynn was one of the big name released ahead of the upcoming auction for IPL 2020. Kolkata Knight Riders decided to part ways with Chris Lynn despite the batsman being one of the fiercest T20 batsmen in the world right now. In the last two seasons, the right-handed batsman was one of the batting mainstays for the two-time IPL winners.

In 2018, he scored 491 runs with the help of 3 fifties at a strike-rate of more than 130, helping the Knight Riders make it to the playoffs. Earlier this year, he was one of Knight Riders’ most consistent batsmen, scoring 405 runs in 13 games with the help of 4 fifties. He scored at a decent average of more than 31 and scored his runs at a strike-rate of nearly 140.
