Delhi Capitals moved to the top of the IPL 2020 points table with a tidy bowling performance to defend 162 in the 30th match of IPL 2020. Delhi Capitals’ bowling performance was top-notch even as their batting drastically fell off in the last few overs. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals suffered the fifth defeat of IPL 2020 and lost a game they feel they should have won.
Jofra Archer set things up for them by sending Prithvi Shaw for a first-ball duck in the very first delivery of the game. Following the loss of Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer built a solid stand to put the Delhi Capitals in the front foot. However, the Royals pulled things back wonderfully in the last few overs to limit the Capitals to 162.
Rajasthan Royals got off to a blistering start, courtesy Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes’ whirlwind opening stand until Anrich Nortje broke open the game for them. The likes of Ben Stokes, Buttler, Sanju Samson, Robin Uthappa all received starts; however, none could go on to stay and make a match-winning score. Hence, eventually, it came down to Rahul Tewatia again and he was not able to take the Royals over the line.
