For the second time in IPL 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore will meet Rajasthan Royals. The two sides will have different assignments on their minds when they take the field with the Rajasthan Royals aiming to salvage their campaign. The Rajasthan Royals’ batting unit has not clicked collectively and is a significant factor for their 13-run loss to the Delhi Capitals in Dubai. It was their fifth loss of IPL 2020 and they need something special to stay alive.

Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Steve Smith’s form remains a major form of concern as he has accumulated four single-figure scores in the last six matches. The opening pair of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes did raise eyebrows; however, they have not done poorly and the Royals are likely to stick with that. Their pace spearhead Jofra Archer needs another potent fast bowler to partner him with the new ball while leggie Shreyas Gopal needs to raise his game too. There is also a case for Smith dropping himself to make way for David Miller.

In contrast, the Royal Challengers Bangalore might most likely stick with the same side. The loss to Kings XI Punjab is merely a blip in their IPL 2020 campaign as they have retained the third spot despite an eight-wicket drubbing. The Royal Challengers’ significant weak links could be Aaron Finch, who has made only one half-century so far and Mohammed Siraj, who conceded plenty of runs without a wicket against KXIP. They will take confidence from having beaten the Royals earlier in the tournament.

Having beaten the Royals earlier in IPL 2020, the Royal Challengers look even more settled in that match with the opposition’s concerns only magnifying. RCB not only has the strength in their batting department but equally have all their bases covered when it comes to the bowling unit. Hence, they will start as firm favourites over the Royals.
