IPL 2020: Three Franchises Set To Drop One Player Each Ahead Of Flying To UAE

After a lot of speculations, the dates for IPL 2020 was recently finalised. The IPL Governing Council, after its meeting on Sunday, announced that the thirteenth edition of the IPL will start from September 19 and end on November 10. The entire tournament will be held in UAE due to alarming coronavirus situation in India.

The IPL GC also announced that the teams will be allowed to make Covid-19 replacements. All the franchises will be allowed to replace players in case they get unwell during the course of the tournament. In another big decision, the GC stated that the IPL franchises will be allowed 24-player squads for IPL 2020.

Consequently, a few players are set to miss the flight to the UAE. Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad had picked 25 players each at the IPL player auction for the upcoming edition which means they will have to drop one player each from their respective squads for the upcoming edition of IPL.
