Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) skipper, was full of praise for his side as they beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match 20 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) by 57 runs to register their fourth win of IPL 2020. Rohit Sharma lauded his side for complete team performance as Mumbai Indians now lead the race in the IPL 2020 points table.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision proved to be absolutely spot-on as the Mumbai Indians batsmen looked to run the show at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Consequently, Mumbai Indians finished on a high score of 193-4. Rajasthan Royals looked out of place throughout the chase, save for the period in which Jos Buttler dominated.

Rohit Sharma Lauds Mumbai Indians After A Comprehensive Win Over Rajasthan Royals

Speaking in the post-match ceremony Rohit Sharma said, “We strive to be out there and play well. We have a lot of quality and it’s about getting the job done. They all have a lot of confidence. They’re all talented and they can take the game away on their day and it’s all falling into place. The conditions are helpful here for the quick bowlers. It was nipping around to start with and it’s good to have bowlers who can exploit the conditions.”

“We also worked a lot on our fielding, because it’s one of the controllables in the game and we made it a point to do that well. A good Surya innings was coming, I spoke to him before the game, and his shot selection was perfect today. We wanted him to bat till the end because he can innovate rather well,” Rohit Sharma added.

Mumbai Indians Go Right On Top

With this win, Mumbai Indians have once again reclaimed the top spot in the IPL 2020 points table, dethroning Delhi Capitals from the summit. Mumbai and Delhi share the same points in the standings, but Mumbai lead by way of having a better Net Run Rate than Delhi. The top two teams will now take on each other on October 11.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have looed as a very confused team ever since stepping out of Sharjah after having won their first couple of games there. This is their 3rd consecutive loss and the woes continue to rise for the Royals as they await the arrival of Ben Stokes.
