Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who returned from injury has cited a perfect team performance as the reason behind their win against Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Hyderabad on Saturday (May 5).
Meanwhile, batting first, Delhi banked on Prithvi Shaw (65) and skipper Shreyas Iyer (44) to post 163 on the board. While Shaw continued his good run, Iyer has been stunning since taking on the responsibility.
Moreover, some late blows from Daniel Christian ensured Delhi go past the 150-run mark.
Meanwhile, Rashid Khan was once again brilliant bagging two for 23 in his four.
In reply, however, Hyderabad got off to a brilliant start, courtesy Alex Hales and Shikhar Dhawan. They both added 76 runs for the first wicket to set the platform for the middle-order.
Skipper Kane Willaimson (32*) and Yusuf Pathan (27*) took their team home easily with one ball to spare.
It was a result of perfect team performance:
Hyderabad’s lethal bowling has been their saving grace in the tournament so far, however, this time it was different.
The Delhi’s 164-run target on a slow wicket and the job looked tough. However, the batsmen did a good job to see the team through.
“The win against DD was important because in the last three or four matches we won because of our bowling. In this match, batsmen won us the game. This is a perfect team performance where the batsmen and bowlers all are performing,” Bhuvneshwar said.
However, it was not a welcome return for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who gave away 33 runs in his quota.
Concluding Bhuvneshwar also added the Sunrisers bowlers did a good job after giving away 95 runs in the first 10 overs.
“There was not much swing happening. After conceding 95 runs in the first 10 overs, we thought that it was not the end. We pulled back in the last 10 overs and gave only 68 runs,” he concluded.
