Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been a vital cog in the wheel for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Interestingly, the star-studded franchise is all set to make the return after two-year suspension.

Solely, the CSK got banned when the IPL spot-fixing scandal 2013 surfaced in the media.

With the eleventh edition beginning in Mumbai, Rajasthan has also returned to the T20 set-up after a two-year exile.

On February 20, 2008, when veteran batsman Dhoni was inducted into the crowd-favourite CSK fold. Known as the ‘pride’ for the outfit, Dhoni snapped INR six-crore deal in the inaugural edition of the IPL.

Taking T20 competition into consideration, Dhoni known as Thala was praised by the CSK management for rendering his services.

In the recent past, the CSK franchise has been one of the top-notch teams in the IPL fold. The league is being under the ambit of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Moreover, with the massive fan base, CSK managed to retain their top-class players to kick off in style on its return

CSK will take on the reigning champions Mumbai Indians led by Rohit Sharma in the curtain raiser on April 7.

Fans on the other side were excited to see CSK team making a sensational return to witness Dhoni leading his side.

The IPL career of Mahendra Singh Dhoni:

Having the plenty of experience on his back, Dhoni featured in 159 IPL matches. He scored 3,561 runs at an average of 37.88. He smashed 17 fifties.

While donning the gloves, Dhoni bagged 76 catches and affected 30 stumpings.
