IPL 2018: Kings XI Punjab seals Yuvraj Singh on base price

Flamboyant batting all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been sold to Kings XI Punjab in INR 2 crore on the first day of auction on Saturday in Bengaluru.

The prominent batsman Yuvraj has played a pivotal role in the cash-rich lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) for different teams.

The opening bid was made by Kings XI Punjab and was sold on the base price after Sunrisers Hyderabad was consulted regarding the Right to Match card which has been the additional feature in the eleventh edition of the IPL.

In 2017 edition of the IPL, Yuvraj featured in 12 matches in which he scored 252 runs which further saw him bagging a solitary wicket.

Known for delivering big, Yuvraj was availed by Sunrisers in the ninth edition when the Hyderabad-based outfit lifted the maiden coveted domestic title under the leadership of David Warner.

Making his debut in the Twenty20 professional league in the inaugural edition of the tournament way back in 2008.

The left-handed batsman Yuvraj played overall 120 matches in which he scored 2,587 runs at an average of 25.61. He smashed 12 fifties which further saw him smashing 204 boundaries and 141 sixes which further included 33 catches.

The co-owner of the IPL franchise Preity Zinta has expressed the delight to see Yuvraj returning to the old-franchise.
