England dasher Jos Buttler is a firm supporter of the IPL. The wicket-keeper batsman revamped his career thanks to a stunning show in the cash-rich league. He feels the upcoming edition of the tournament would be an ideal platform to prepare for the World T20.
The ICC marquee event will take place in Australia later this year. Buttler got back among runs with a gritty half-century in the decider against South Africa. He is a vital cog in the T20 set up for the Three Lions. Eoin Morgan’s side would look to do a double, having lifted the 50-over World Cup last year.
Jos Buttler on the experience of playing in IPL
“I think the IPL has had as big an impact as any on my career,” Buttler told Sky Sports. “It’s an amazing place to learn and it is the best T20 competition in the world, all the best players playing against each other and you’re sharing a dressing room with past and present brilliant players.

England will play six more games in the shortest format of the game ahead of the World Cup. But certain players including Buttler will get the much-needed dress rehearsal in the IPL.

“It is a place where you can learn so much, learn a lot about yourself and looking ahead to the T20 World Cup in the not-too-distant future, the IPL is a great platform to prepare at the highest level.”
Buttler will be joined by Ben Stokes and Tom Curran at the Rajasthan Royals dug-out. Stokes hasn’t been at his best when it comes to his stats in the IPL. This time around, he would look to count himself in and help the Royals to their second title since the inaugural one back in 2008.
