Persistent rain in Bengaluru did not allow hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore and visiting side Delhi Daredevils (DD) to prepare before the league stage tie on Saturday (April 21).
Fresh rainfall in the city washed out the practice session of both the teams. However, it could have an impact on the performance, as both teams are in desperate need to register a win.
Delhi Daredevils are placed at the eighth spot of the intriguing points table. Whereas, Virat Kohli-led side is placed at the seventh position on the IPL 2018 points table.
It will be the contest between both the teams to prevent themselves from making things miserable for themselves before moving forward into the league.
Meanwhile, rain threat is all set to have an impact on the game as well. There are chances of rain droplets pouring down during the contest which would have an impact on the game. Toss, in this case, will be quite crucial.
The captain winning the toss might look to bowl first in case of rain. Daredevils have already lost one game where rain played its part.
Their contest against Rajasthan Royals was cut down to six overs in the second innings, and the Gautam Gambhir-led side failed to chase down the target.
Talking of changes, Delhi Daredevils might add Amit Mishra in the playing XI.
On the other hand, RCB might also make some changes. Kohli might be looking forward to the tweaking of scratchy bowling line-up.
Chris Woakes might be dropped from the playing XI while Parthiv Patel is also expected to be there in the playing XI.
