After a thumping win over Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 13 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad‘s (SRH) main catalyst Manish Pandey and Rashid Khan made an appearance during an interview session talking about the match and their plans for the upcoming game.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad registered two back-to-back wins while defending a modest target and is mastering the art to strangulate the opponents.
Batting first, Hyderabad once again struggled because of their top-order. The openers have failed to provide good starts which have kept the Hyderabad dugout thinking.
However, an important partnership between Manish Pandey (54) and Shakib Al Hasan (28) steadied the sinking ship of Sunrisers.
Moreover, some late contribution from Yusuf Pathan (21) ensured the bowlers had something to bowl at.
Meanwhile, the visitors had a great start while solely banking on KL Rahul and Chris Gayle. They cruised to 55 in eight overs before Rahul (32) departed.
Since three on, it has been a landslide for the Ravichandran Ashwin-led side after winnings a couple of matches on a trot.
Rashid Khan led the sweeping as he returned with three for 19 in his quota of four overs.
The other bowlers also chipped in the useful contribution as Hyderabad complete their sweet revenge at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Rashid engages in a chat with ‘Rajkumar’ Manish:
Post the match, the cricketers had an interview session questioning each other. While Pandey asked Rashid about how he plans for a game, Rashid quizzed Pandey what he will do carry this momentum.
The leg-spinner from Afghanistan admitted that he had his self-belief and was confident of doing well. He also credited his teammates and support staffs for backing his ability.
Rashid has been of top-notch with the ball and is a sheer match-winner. His form will boost Hyderabad going towards the business end of the lucrative T20 league.
Meanwhile, Rashid while questioning Manish called him as the “Rajkumar’ (Prince) of the team. The middle-order batsman played a useful fifty runs knock as SRH posted a challenging total.
Moreover, Pandey hopes to continue with the gained momentum in the next match against Rajasthan Royals which is slated for April 29 (Sunday). He also admitted that he was a bit lucky – to get a couple of chances.
Rashid Khan concluded saying the “fortune favours the brave” and they are determined to continue the winning run.
