The Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was availed by the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad in INR 2 crore, as he has been the regular feature of the widely-acclaimed Twenty20 league since 2011 for Kolkata Knight Riders except 2013 edition.
The opening bid was made by Sunrisers Hyderabad before Rajasthan Royals made the entry into the bidding process before the famous auctioneer Richard Madley hit the gavel.
The 30-year-old Shakib has been known for his accuracy with the ball which further saw him delivering goods for the franchise.
One of the best allrounders, Shakib has been the vital cog in the late-order. The left-handed batsman Shakib has been somewhat consistent with the white-ball even on the feather bed.
So far, in overall 43 matches, Shakib scored 498 runs which include the unbeaten 66 as his individual best. He has two fifties under his belt.
However, with his left-arm spin bowling, Shakib bagged 43 wickets at an average of 25.60 with the best bowling figures of three for 17.
Concluding, Hasan’s base price was INR 1 lakh.
