India started their overseas campaign on a high note as they routed host Ireland by 76 runs to go 1-0 up in the ongoing two-match series at Dublin on June 27 (Wednesday).

Meanwhile, India got off to a brilliant start banking on the opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. The pair added 160 runs for the opening wicket – to lay the foundation for the batsmen to come in.

However, the middle-order struggled terribly as India managed to post 208 runs at the halfway mark in 20 allotted overs. Rohit departed three short from his hundred while Dhawan contributed 74 runs with the bat.

In reply, Ireland didn’t look to chase down the target as they kept losing wickets.

Again the spinning duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have mastered the task of picking wickets in any conditions. The pair shared seven wickets among themselves as the Irish batsmen looked clueless. They finished at 132 runs.

Here is the players rating of Indian Cricket team:

Rohit Sharma: (9/10)

Rohit Sharma started his overseas tour with a bang while hammering an inexperienced bowling line-up. He missed his century by three runs as India propelled to 208 in Dublin.

Rohit struck eight boundaries and five sixes as this will give him a huge boost in the rest of the games.

Shikhar Dhawan: (8/10)

Shikhar Dhawan’s prime form with the bat continues across the formats. He along with Rohit provided India with a swashbuckling start while adding 160 runs for the first wicket.

Dhawan smashed 74 runs off just 45 balls including five boundaries and sixes each.

Suresh Raina: (4/10)

Suresh Raina had a perfect opportunity to adjust to the conditions but failed to prolong his stay in the middle. He came to bat on the back of a strong opening partnership from Rohit and Dhawan.

Raina managed to score 10 runs, however, will need to come good in the second game.

MS Dhoni: (4.5/10)

Mahendra Singh Dhoni had an outstanding stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he led his team to the title. He was brilliant with the bat and carried it to Ireland, failed to cash in on the start.

Dhoni scored 11 runs off five balls but will have to put his best feet forward in the next game.

Hardik Pandya: (3.5/10)

Although he finished India’s inning in style with a brilliant six, he was off colour with the ball. Hardik Pandya gave away 36 runs from his quota of four overs which will be a headache for the visitors.

The promising all-rounder will have to be in his superlative form to retain his place in the playing XI.

Virat Kohli: (0/10)

Virat Kohli disastrous time in the United Kingdom (UK) continues as he failed to open his accounts against the Irish. He demoted himself in the batting order to give others a fair opportunity to bat.

Kohli, meanwhile, will have to get his touch back before moving to England.

Manish Pandey: (0/10)

Manish Pandey had no role to play in this game, however, many raised speculations over his selections.

Pandey will be keen to answer those questions if he gets an opportunity in the next game.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: (7/10)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was at his best bowling some tight line and length. He was economical as he gave away only 16 runs from the four overs.

Kohli and company will want Kumar to continue this form in the all-important England series.

Kuldeep Yadav: (9.5/10)

Jasprit Bumrah was brilliant with the new ball and at the end of the innings. The young seamer returned with two for 19 in his four overs providing his team with major breakthroughs.

His form will be very important going ahead in the long tour.

Yuzvendra Chahal: (7.5/10)

Although Chahal was expensive, he picked three important wickets which will satisfy the management.

However, he needs to keep a check on the free flow of runs.

For India, Chahal along with Kuldeep will be the masterstroke for Kohli, for the UK tour.
