The Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan, who played a crucial role for India in inaugural T20I World Cup 2007, set to make his debut in the film industry. He will be joining the legendary actor Vikram. The movie will be directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, who is a well-known director in the south, especially, in Chennai.

The movie is set to be produced by 7 Screen Studios in association with Viacom 18. The great AR Rahman has been roped in to compose music for the film. It is also learnt that Vikram will be essaying multiple looks in the film and his character is said to be very unique compared to his previous films.

The team has also concluded an interesting title and the rest of the cast will also be a big surprise for the audiences, adds our source. One of those surprises is the role of Irfan Pathan, who will be doing a police officer role in the film. The shooting will complete in a couple of months, as Vikram wants to prepare himself for Maniratnam’s movie.

Speaking to Crictracker, Irfan Pathan quoted that he was surprised and asked the director why they chose him. However, the answer from the direction department is obvious that the role has demanded someone like him, who perfectly suits it. Irfan Pathan will be playing a Turkey Police officer role.

 “Looking forward to this project. When they came to me, I asked why me? But they were 100 percent sure the role is for me,” Irfan Pathan said.

Well, it would be interesting to see how Irfan Pathan will fare in the new role. Currently, he is working with Star Sports for the ongoing Test series between India and South Africa. Recently, he was also joined with Jammu And Kashmir, where he was the player-cum-coach of the team.
