ISL 2017: Rahul Dravid Announced as Brand Ambassador of Bengaluru Football Club

In the latest development on Tuesday, veteran batsman, concurrent India A team and Under-19 coach Rahul Dravid has been roped as the Brand Ambassador by the Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Bengaluru Football Club (FC).

Interestingly, with most of the ISL franchises has had availed the services of actors, but Bengaluru FC management focused on something interesting to pick a former professional cricketer Dravid.

“It’s great to be an ambassador for Bengaluru FC, a team who I have been tracking across the last four seasons,” Dravid said as his comment was tweet by Bengaluru FC with a hashtag of ‘Dravid is a blue’.

Moreover, after adding a new feather to his cap, the local hero, Dravid expressed his delight to become a part of the home-based club.

Dravid, who has also been overseeing the progress of the club, stated the soccer has gone from strength to strength while adding it has further created a strong fan-base throughout the years. Pertinently, the club revealed the news through its official Twitter handle.

While speaking regarding the association with the home club, Dravid reiterated the huge response from the die-hard fans toward the club has been immense.

“Also, the connect is instant given I am a Bangalore boy. The way the city has responded to BFC has been tremendous and the club has some of the most passionate fans,” Dravid said.

Interestingly, in a video released by Bengaluru FC, Dravid could be seen filling the final slot with a brink, in a bid to complete the wall, as the one-minute 52-second video was titled as ‘Brick by Brick.’

It’s important to point out that the ISL entrant has been the Federation Cup Champions in the recent past.

“The ISL will be a new chapter in the club’s history and I’m looking forward to being part of it in my capacity with BFC,” Dravid maintained.

On the other side, Parth Jindal, who’s the chief executive officer of Bengaluru FC, stated he is exalted to find the professional who has played an imperative role in investing in youth.

“We can think of no one who imbibes the values and ethics of this club more than him [Dravid].” Jindal asserted.

Dravid also donned the blue jersey of Bengaluru FC at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, as the club will kick-off their campaign against Mumbai City Football Club (FC) on November 19 at the same venue in its first-ever ISL season.
