The right-handed Karnataka batsman Mayank Agarwal had already cemented his position in the Indian Test team with his enormous run tallies in the recently-concluded home series against South Africa and Bangladesh. Now, he earned a call-up to feature India in the ODI format of the game as well. Speaking of the same, Mayank Agarwal feels switching the formats is easy for him.
Mayank Agarwal’s state and IPL teammate KL Rahul is likely to open along with Rohit Sharma in Dhawan’s absence after two good knocks in the just-concluded T20I series against West Indies. But Agarwal will be looking forward to any chance that may come his way and grab it as he did in Tests.

I always think about how I can contribute – Mayank Agarwal
Talking about his transition between red ball-cricket and white ball, Mayank Agarwal said he tries to keep his basics simple regardless of the format of the game he is playing in. Mayank Agarwal also highlighted the importance of mindset, which play a key role in the performance of him in the field.
“The more I play like this, the better it is for me as a cricketer because I rather play cricket than not play cricket. When it comes to mindset (switching formats), the basics remain the same. It’s easy to switch formats if your game-plan is clear and your understanding of the game is clear,” Agarwal told teammate Yuzvendra Chahal on Chahal TV.

“Regardless of wherever I play, I always think about how I can become an asset to my team and how I can contribute to the team. Even if I don’t score runs with the bat, I think about contributing on the field, bringing more energy on the field.”
