The lanky pacer of England and Nottingham bowling department, Jake Ball has been ruled out for the remainder of season. He is having back problems that has sidelined him for a lengthy spell.
In August, he faced some issues in his back against Derbyshire in T20 Blast and has not played since then.

On Sunday, his team Nottinghamshire played the quarter-final in final T20 Blast against Somerset. In six Championship matches, he took 28 wickets at an average of 22.25.

However, in T20 matches, he only managed to make three wickets in last six matches at an economy of 9.26.

“I’m extremely disappointed to get the news, I’d hoped to be back for the final parts of the season but unfortunately that isn’t possible,” Ball said.

Jake Ball sent best wishes for his team

The lanky pacer is hopeful that his team will play the Finals Day of the tournament. It is worthwhile to mention that his team is the defending champion of the competition.

“I’ll be following and supporting the boys, and hopefully we can get through to Finals Day and have a go at defending our title.”

The tall pacer from England is going under the programme of rehabilitation and is eyeing for next season. In the tour of Sri Lanka, Ball was a strong candidate in the frame of selection.

England is considered rotational policy following poor outings of their first choice bowlers on sub-continent surfaces. England selectors are considered dropping James Anderson and Stuart Broad on the tour of Sri Lanka and try new faces.

“For me, I’ll be working hard on my rehab so that I can have a full winter programme and be raring to go for next season.”
