Watch: Jasprit Bumrah Dismisses Faf du Plessis For A Duck With Unplayable Delivery

Jasprit Bumrah was undoubtedly a surprise inclusion in the playing eleven for the ongoing first Test against South Africa in Cape Town. The uncapped right-arm pacer was given a place in the playing eleven ahead of Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav against the formidable hosts. The decision was further questioned when Bumrah failed to make a big mark in the first innings. Although he clean bowled AB de Villiers, he conceded at an economy of close to 4.

Well, the 24-year old did not take long in the second innings to show why he got the nod ahead of his experienced teammates for the ongoing game. Mohammed Shami gave India a dream start by dismissing both of South Africa’s overnight batsmen- Kagiso Rabada and Hashim Amla- to reduce them to 73 for four after they started the day on 65 for 2. The dismissal of Rabada saw Faf du Plessis joining AB de Villiers on the crease. The duo had bailed the Proteas out of trouble in the first innings by sharing a century-plus stand but failed to replicate their efforts again courtesy of an outstanding delivery from Bumrah.

Du Plessis was yet to open his account when he faced an unplayable delivery from Bumrah and ended up edging it behind to the wicketkeeper. Bumrah bowled an angled delivery, going in but the ball moved away right at the last moment, leaving du Plessis clueless as he could not do anything except edging it.

Here is a clip of the stunning delivery:
