India’s main pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are likely to be rested for the upcoming third ODI against Australia on Wednesday. Before the start of the series, skipper Virat Kohli had said that the duo’s workload would be managed during the limited-overs series.
And with the three-match ODI series already decided in Australia’s favour, it looks like neither Mohammed Shami nor Jasprit Bumrah would play the third ODI. Both the players skipped Team India’s final training session on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming match.

While the other players were seen sweating it out for the third match, neither Jasprit Bumrah nor Mohammed Shami were seen in the nets. And as they look set to be rested for the upcoming clash, T Natarajan could make his much-anticipated debut.
Along with Natarajan, Shardul Thakur is likely to get the nod for a place in the playing eleven if both the senior pacers are rested. Navdeep Saini is likely to retain his place in the team despite failing to make any impression in the first two games of the series.

Meanwhile, both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have struggled in Australia so far. None of them could provide the early breakthroughs in the first two games as Australia piled up huge totals to win both the matches convincingly.
Widely regarded as one of the best in the world, Jasprit Bumrah has looked largely ineffective in the ongoing series. In the first ODI, he had conceded 73 runs while taking one wicket. In the second game on Sunday, he went for 79 runs while taking one wicket.
On the other hand, Shami did well in the first match when he took three wickets for 59 runs off his 10 overs but went wicketless for 73 runs off 9 overs in the second ODI.
