Team India haven’t missed Jasprit Bumrah much in the ongoing home season. The India pace spearhead has not played a single game in the ongoing season due to a stress fracture in his back. He last played during the Test series against West Indies in the Caribbeans and was class apart. In both the games, he had picked up five-wicket hauls including a hat-trick as India won both the games.

He was named in the squad for the three-match Test series against South Africa but was later ruled out due to the back injury. Last month, he had visited the UK with the National Cricket Academy’s chief physiotherapist Ashish Kaushik and consulted specialists to treat the back problem. Recently, chief selector MSK Prasad gave an update on the pacer, saying that he would travel to New Zealand for the series early next year.

“He (Bumrah) is gradually getting back to full fitness, though we need to hear from the people working on his recovery. His return cannot be before next month as we are still waiting for a report on him. But of course, he is expected to be back for the New Zealand series,” Prasad had said during the pink ball Test in Kolkata.

Early return for Jaspri Bumrah:

Well, it looks like Jasprit Bumrah would return to action earlier than expected as he has started bowling in the nets. The bowler himself took to Instagram to reveal the massive news and looking at his post, one can say that he is not rusty at all and is raring to go. The star pacer posted a picture of a broken middle-stump on his Instagram story, writing:

India will next take on West Indies in a limited-overs series next month. At the start of the year, the Men in Blue will play three T20Is against Sri Lanka and as many ODIs against Australia and Bumrah can return to action during one of those series.
