It’s not only the same birth date but also Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah is all set to share an elite record as well. Both the players registered 49 T20I games for India and will join the stalwarts of India if they get a game on Sunday. The vice-captain of India Rohit Sharma tops the list with 107 games to his name.

They will join the likes of Rohit, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan and Yuvraj Singh in an elite list of Indian players to have represented India in 50 T20I matches.

Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah will become the joint-seventh players:

Both Bumrah and Jadeja have played 49 T20I matches for the Men in Blue and are just a match away from completing their 50 appearances for India in the shortest format of the game.

Rohit has played the most number of T20Is for India as his tally stands at 107, which is also the second-most in the world only behind Pakistan veteran Shoaib Malik (113). Behind Rohit are Dhoni (98), Kohli (82), Raina (78), Dhawan (61), Yuvraj (58).

It would have been 50th game for Jadeja in the last game itself but the Indian team management decided to rest him to give a chance to Washington Sundar in the side.

However, Bumrah played his 49th game to equal the tally of Jadeja. If they both get a game on Sunday, they will become the joint-seventh to enter the list of Indians with 50 T20I games.

It would be interesting to see the Team India’s playing XI combination given that hectic scheduling of the tour. The three-match ODI series commences from February 5th just three days after the conclusion of the T20I series.

So far, it was a brilliant tour for the Indian National Cricket Team. They convincingly thrashed New Zealanders in an initial couple of games at Auckland and then won back to back super over thrillers to make it 4-0 with a game to go in 5-match T20I series.
