Jasprit Bumrah Welcomes Chris Lynn To Mumbai Indians With Hilarious Warning

Chris Lynn will don Mumbai Indians’ jersey in the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. The defending champions secured the hard-hitting Australian batsman’s services in the recently-concluded auction. Chris Lynn, in fact, was Mumbai Indians first buy in the auction. The four-time champions secured his services at his base price of INR 2 crore.

Mumbai Indians were in search of an opener after releasing their West Indian recruit Evin Lewis and they would be delighted with Chris Lynn’s arrival. The right-handed batsman has been one of the most devastating openers in the IPL in recent years. He was one of the biggest releases ahead of the auction as Kolkata Knight Riders decided to let him go.

In the last two seasons, Chris Lynn was one of the batting mainstays for the two-time IPL winners. In 2018, he scored 491 runs with the help of 3 fifties at a strike-rate of more than 130, helping the Knight Riders make it to the playoffs. Earlier this year, he was one of Knight Riders’ most consistent batsmen, scoring 405 runs in 13 games with the help of 4 fifties. He scored at a decent average of more than 31 and scored his runs at a strike-rate of nearly 140.

Bumrah welcomes Lynn:

As soon as Mumbai Indians bought him, Chris Lynn expressed his excitement on social media as he tweeted immediately. Apart from the perks of joining the most successful side in the history of IPL, Chris Lynn was also relieved at the prospect of not having to face Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming IPL season.

“Great City, Quality Franchise, Flat wicket, Don’t have to play against @Jaspritbumrah93. Can’t wait for @IPL 2020,” Lynn tweeted.

Well, Jasprit Bumrah was quick to welcome Lynn to Mumbai Indians. At the same time, Bumrah also fired a warning, stating that Lynn would have to face him in the nets, writing;

“Haha, welcome to the team! @lynny50 You’re still going to have to face me in the nets. ?”
