Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah is infatuated with the sport he truly loves the most. When he takes a wicket, he radiates happiness and is full of bonhomie but when he fails to live up to his reputation, he radiates signs of frustration and anger because he is someone who aims to bring success to the Indian national cricket team in the form of taking wickets in the crunch situations of the game.

Talk about insane competitiveness! Even in the training session, he brings the best out of himself and to sum it up, he is world-class. He is currently out of the Indian team set-up as he is nursing an injury. His road to recovery is going good, which is indeed positive news to Team India and its fans. Bumrah is expected to swing his arms by January.

Bumrah’s road to recovery is good

Speaking to news agency IANS, sources clarified that Jasprit Bumrah went through a medical assessment after the Diwali break and he is on the road to recovery. It is expected that he should be back in full swing at the start of the new year.

“He underwent assessment and his recovery is on track. Can expect him to be back in Indian colours in January and the Australia series could be the one,” the source said.

India will be inviting both Sri Lanka and Australia in January before jetting off to New Zealand for a two-match Test series, three-ODIs and five T20Is. The team management firmly reckons that it is significant to have trump card like Jasprit Bumrah at that time who can deliver the much-needed inputs when he is fully fit.

“When you are playing in New Zealand, the bowling becomes all the more important. As you have seen in the past as well, it is more about taking 20 wickets there than scoring big hundreds. So, the team management was very clear that they are happy to wait and have him back at his best in time for the New Zealand tour,” the source added.

The Indians have been playing a fearless brand of cricket on a consistent basis and which is why the team management has been taking care of the important players so much so that they would avoid injuries.

“That’s probably the most important thing for us right now, managing the workload of players. That’s why he (Bumrah) didn’t play any white-ball cricket after the World Cup because we wanted him to be fresh for the Tests. He is going to be a key factor for us as long as the Test championship continues. We know how good a bowler he is. And the impact he can make in a spell,” Indian captain Virat Kohli had said after Jasprit Bumrah’s breathtaking spells in the Windies Test series.
