Twitter Erupts As Jofra Archer Smashes 4 Consecutive Sixes Off Lungi Ngidi In The 20th Over

Chennai Super Kings looked to have pulled things back after having taken 6-46 in 5.4 overs post Sanju Samson’s dismissal before Jofra Archer [27 off 8 balls] launched a stunning assault on Lungi Ngidi in the last over to take Rajasthan Royals to 7-216 in 20 overs.

It was a brilliant counter-attack by the burly English pacer as he smoked Lungi Ngidi for four consecutive sixes, eventually taking him for 30 runs. Archer’s hitting was as clean as whistle. He picked Ngidi’s slower balls brilliantly by rocking back into his crease and smashing them for monstrous sixes towards the on-side.

Archer’s third six came off a no ball, which was also dispatched for a six. Lungi’s mindset was clearly destroyed as he bowled a wide on the very next delivery before conceding yet another six on the free hit.

At one point, Ngidi had conceded 27 runs off just 2 legitimate deliveries and Chris Gayle’s record of most runs in a single over [37] came under serious threat of getting overhauled. Ngidi, however, came back brilliantly to keep the overall run-tally to 30 runs off six balls.
