There is a saying in the game of cricket that the Australian Cricket Team is the best team when it comes to sledging. However, the latest sensation of the game, Jofra Archer thinks another way, as he found Australians terrible in sledging. He believes that Australians were panicked a bit during the Third Test.

Ben Stokes played one of the greatest Test-match knocks the world has ever witnessed to lead England to a miraculous 1-wicket win over Australia in the third match of the Ashes 2019 series on last Sunday.

Stokes’s unbelievable knock of 135 not out off 219 balls helped England chase down the mammoth target of 359, which was also their highest successful run chase in Test history and the second-highest in Ashes cricket. England was bowled out for 67 in their first innings but bounced back really well thanks to Stokes’s all-round effort.

Stokes’s knock was laced with 11 boundaries and 8 towering sixes. It was his 8th Test hundred and third in The Ashes against Australia. He was part of a 76-run unbroken partnership for the final wicket with Jack Leach, who scored just 1 run from the 17 balls he faced in the match as England crossed the finish line in the second session on Day 4.

I think they panicked – Jofra Archer

Meanwhile, coming out at No.9 with England still needing almost 100 runs, Archer scored 15 off 33 deliveries and hit three boundaries during the brief knock. He went after Lyon in search of the third boundary in the over but was caught by Travis Head near the rope.

However, following the wicket, the Australians tried to mock Archer for his poor stroke. Speaking of the same, Jofra Archer quoted that the sledging from Australians was terrible, as he believes that the crowd has got under their skin. Further, Jofra Archer quoted that he even laughed at Australians for their poor sledging.

“It was a terrible chat. Nothing to worry about. It made me laugh,” Archer said. “It was either Tim Paine or Matthew Wade but someone said ‘that is a great shot Jof’. You should never get complacent … the crowd started getting on their backs and I think they panicked a bit.,” Fox Sports quoted Jofra Archer as saying.

The teams are now level at 1-1 in the series. Australia would have secured the famous urn with a 2-0 lead but the stunning knock from Ben Stokes changed the equation to 1-1 with a couple of Test matches remaining.
