The first Ashes Test was marred by the ‘Head Butt’ controversy, which involved experienced England wicketkeeper-batsman, Jonny Bairstow and a rookie, Cameron Bancroft.
As per the reports, Bairstow greeted Bancroft with a headbutt during a night out, but the matter came to an end until the time both teams reached Adelaide for the second Test.
However, again, Jonny Bairstow gave the issue a bit of air during the Perth Test when he unusually celebrated his century.
Here is the video –

Soon after completing his ton, he greeted the fans but also head-butted his helmet on the field. Bancroft, the second person involved in the head-butt controversy, was present on there and Bairstow was the star of the show again.

At the end of the first Test, Bancroft had said he wasn’t expecting a heat butt from Bairstow. The matter had reached the dead end, but Bairstow has raised the issue again.
The response from Bancroft, when he comes out to bat, will be most interesting to see whether he (if he scores a ton) answers Bairstow in the same fashion or not?

Bairstow was finally dismissed on 119 off Mitchell Starc, a few minutes before lunch on Day two. He, along with Dawid Malan, did a superb job on day one, as at one stage, the visitors were four down at 131, but these two shared 237 runs for the fifth wicket to steer England’s boat ahead. Malan got dismissed on 140. England was all-out on 403 in the first innings.
