Jos Buttler, England and Rajasthan Royals swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman, is really excited at the prospect of playing his first game of the 2020 IPL after having completed his mandatory six-day quarantine.
Buttler missed out on the Rajasthan Royals opening game against the Chennai Super Kings due to the mandatory quarantine requirement. Rajasthan Royals, however, did not miss their ace batsman much as Sanju Samson’s 32-ball 74, a brilliant half-century, and a late-order assault by Jofra Archer propelled the inaugural champions to an eventual match-winning total of 7-216.
Buttler heaped high praise on the all-round performance of the Royals in the last game and having joined the squad for training, the Lancashire wicketkeeper-batsman is looking forward to getting into the thick of things.
Great to get a win on the board, the team played fantastically well in the first game. It was an outstanding batting performance and a fantastic bowling performance in tough bowling conditions. I am really excited to play my first game, it was great to be back in training with the boys, there’s a great vibe around the team so I’m really looking forward to taking the field. The atmosphere and energy around the squad is fantastic, obviously lots of confidence after that first game,” Jos Buttler said in an official press-release by the Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals will now lock horns with the KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab, who will be coming into this game on the back of a massive 97-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore. With the game set to be played in Sharjah, Jos Buttler is expecting another high-scoring encounter in what he reckoned will be a ‘really tough match’ against Kings XI.
“The training has been very energetic, guys are lively and enjoying each other’s company. So yeah good atmosphere around, expecting a really tough match against Kings XI. Obviously a fantastic team, KL Rahul was in exceptional form the other night against RCB, so he will be a key wicket as always and I think we’ll see another potentially high-scoring game at Sharjah with small boundaries and the dew factor coming in. Can’t wait to get back out there,” he added.
