Australian leg-spinner, Adam Zampa jokingly suggests that he doesn’t mind teammate Josh Hazlewood dismissing Virat Kohli often. Hazlewood seems to have the edge over the Indian skipper this year.

The lanky pacer has got the better of Kohli 4 times this year – thrice in the recent ODI series and once during the series in India in  January. He has got the wicket of the Indian captain three times in Test cricket as well.

Hence Adam Zampa, who has troubled Kohli in the past, jokingly says that Hazlewood can take over the label of Kohli’s ‘conqueror’. The leggie has dismissed his RCB skipper 7 times in international cricket.

Zampa praised Hazlewood for his performances in the ODI series. The seamer was the second-highest wicket-taker in the series with 6 wickets, behind Zampa’s tally of 7.

Speaking to cricket.com.au, Adam Zampa said, “He (Hazlewood) can have it. He can have (the mantle of) Kohli’s conqueror. Josh (is a) pretty nonchalant kind of guy. He just got in done. But, it was nice to get Kohli, particularly (in) today’s game. He looked like he was on again. Josh seems to get those big wickets all the time.”

India and Australia will meet in the 3-match T20I series which commences on Friday in Canberra. Australia will be without the services of an opener, David Warner and Pat Cummins. Warner is suffering from a groin injury while Cummins is given rested ahead of the Test series.

After the completion of the T20I series, both the teams will lock horns in the 4-match Test series starting 17th December for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

However, regular captain, Virat Kohli will miss out on the last three Test matches as he will return to India to attend the birth of his first child with his wife and Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma.

He has been granted paternity leave by the BCCI and will lead the side in the ODIs, T20Is, and the first Test in Adelaide. Ajinkya Rahane is likely to captain the team in the last three Test matches in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
