Kagiso Rabada Becomes The Fastest-Ever To Claim 50 IPL Wickets

Kagiso Rabada, South African and Delhi Capitals fast bowler scaled another milestone during his sides’ fixture against Chennai Super Kings after he became the fastest to claim 5o wickets in the history of the IPL.

Rabada, who is also the leading wicket-taker of the ongoing season, dismissed his former skipper Faf du Plessis on Saturday, to surpass West Indies and Kolkata Knight Riders off-spinner, Sunil Narine, as the fastest to take 50 IPL wickets- both in terms of matches and the number of deliveries.

Rabada has achieved the feat in a mere 27 matches as compared to Sunil Narine, who claimed the feat in 32 outings.

As far as the list is concerned, Kagiso Rabada and Sunil Narine are followed by the leading wicket-taker in the history of the cash-rich league, Lasith Malinga, who took 33 games to cross 50 wickets.

In terms of the number of deliveries taken to reach 50 IPL scalps, Kagiso Rabada leapfrogged Lasith Malinga, who took 749 deliveries to achieve the milestone, as compared to Rabada’s 616. Narine, on the other hand, took 760 balls to achieve the feat.

Talking about Rabada’s latest performance, the South African bolter registered figures of 1-33 in four overs before Chennai Super Kings eventually posted 4-179 in 20 overs thanks to late-overs belligerence by Ravindra Jadeja and Ambati Rayudu.

In reply, Delhi Capitals have lost two early wickets and are currently 2-35 after 5.2 overs.
