The young right-handed pacer, Kamlesh Nagarkoti impressed one and all with his express pace during the ICC U19 World Cup. Meanwhile, India lifted the trophy for the fourth time beating Australia by eight wickets.

Further, Nagarkoti was instrumental in India’s success as they remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Also, India were a dominant force as was one of the title contenders. The young guns played as a team and backed each other throughout.

Recently, Nagarkoti spilled beans on how coach Dravid did not let them indulge their adventurous side.

Dravid’s rules during the WC:

Kamlesh Nagarkoti recalled how head coach Rahul Dravid did not allow them to do adventure activities. Also, he added that he would allow us to do something here and there. Citing an incident atop a mountain in Queenstown, where he along with Manjot Kalra felt like doing adventure actives, however, Dravid didn’t allow them.

He said the tournament was going on, and there was no point in taking any risk,” said Nagarkoti. “He would allow us to do a few things here and there, but we had to be back in our hotel by a certain time,” he added.

Talking about breaking the rules set by Dravid, Kamlesh Nagarkoti admitted that they were scared to do so.

Actually, we were a bit scared of sir. And we thought we should not break the curfew, so we never did it. Honestly, we didn’t. Well, we did think about it a few times but then we reasoned that ‘nahi yaar, sir would have had something in mind when putting a curfew in place, so let’s follow it’, adding that he hopes to take a late night stroll in Australia sometime in the future,” Nagarkoti mentioned.

Meanwhile, the young seamer was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during last month’s IPL auction. Further, Nagarkoti is delighted to join the cash-rich league and is looking forward to it.
