Australian limited-overs specialist, Kane Richardson, becomes the latest addition of players to forego Indian Premier League (IPL), in order to focus on Test cricket. The lanky quick finally opened up about his decision to opt out of this year’s edition of IPL.
Apparently, Kane is scheduled to get married this April. Additionally, the 27-year-old bowler hopes to perform in Australia’s premier first-class Sheffield Sheild tournament in order to gain his Test cap.

Richardson, already, was a part of several franchises in the bygone years. Starting off at Pune Warriors India, he went on to represent the Rajasthan Royals. Later on, he represented Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in 2015.
“I’m actually getting married in April. A bit of pressure to stay at home this year,” claimed Richardson according to cricket.co.au. Richardson was chalked out to be a hot property this IPL, given his performance for Melbourne Renegades, this year in BBL.

I can get over there (India) a few more times: Kane Richardson

“It’s a hard decision because of the financial rewards. Not a lot of guys do it. I’ve put in a little bit more of a goal to play more Shield cricket [Australia’s premier First-Class tournament] and I thought if I play upwards of seven Shield games, the body is going to need a fair bit of a rest,” Richardson advocates further.
The South Australian is currently featuring for his country in the ongoing Gillette Trans-Tasman Triangular series.
Richardson is fresh off a three-wicket haul at the MCG against England on Saturday, February 10. The 6’2″ bowler hopes that he comes back to India in the coming years again.

“I experienced it [IPL] as a young bloke and made a little bit of money over there so that makes it easier having had that happen. I’m still only 27 next so hopefully, I can get over there a few more times,” concluded Richardson.
