Kane Williamson, the New Zealand skipper, overtook former Australian skipper Steven Smith as the second-ranked batsman in the MRF Tyres ICC Test Rankings.

On the other hand, Cheteshwar Pujara gained big as he moved into the top five in the batsmen list following his match-winning knock against Australia at Adelaide. Pujara was the lone warrior in the first innings playing a knock of 123 runs while his partnership with Ajinkya Rahane helped India post a massive target. In doing so, he moved past Joe Root and David Warner and currently sits pretty at No.4.

Kane Williamson smashed 89 to 139 against Pakistan to register a historic Test win at Abu Dhabi. It helped the Kiwi skipper scale to a career-high total of 9ratingngs points, seven behind India skipper Virat Kohli. Williamson is now the first from his country to get past 900 ratings points.

For Pakistan, valiant centurions Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq made gains. Ali rose two places to No.10 and Shafiq climbed one spot to No.21. Babar Azam, who made a fighting 51 in Pakistan’s second innings, also rose three places to No.35.
