Days ahead of their first World Cup game, Team India have received a huge injury boost with their middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav looking set to be fit in time for the clash. There were big doubts over his participation in the early games of the World Cup after he missed the IPL playoffs as well as the final due to a shoulder injury. Jadhav had injured his shoulder while fielding for Chennai Super Kings against Kings XI Punjab in their last league game.

The apprehensions only grew when Jadhav missed both of India’s warm-up games. Media reports then suggested that the Maharashtra star is more than likely to miss India’s first World Cup clash against South Africa on June 5. However, Jadhav, on Thursday, provided Team India a huge boost by resuming his batting practise in the nets. The right-hander took to Instagram to post a video of his net session while expressing his delight, writing:

“Good to be back in the nets ?❤️”

Jadhav is an integral part of the team and is certain to play all the games provided he remains fit. The middle-order batsman has been a revelation with his spin bowling. Time and again, skipper Virat Kohli has relied on Jadhav for breakthroughs and the latter has rarely disappointed.

Team India, meanwhile, will be looking to start their World Cup campaign on a winning note. The Men in Blue have returned to winning ways after thrashing Bangladesh by 95 runs in their second warm-up game. Batting first, India rode on centuries from KL Rahul and MS Dhoni to score a mammoth 359 for 7. The bowlers then bowled out the Tigers for 264.
