Kevin Pietersen Supports Fan Who Called Alec Stewart Clueless For Praising Alastair Cook
No matter what, former England batsman Kevin Pietersen is wasting not even a single chance to attack his national team in the ongoing Ashes. From criticizing players for their performance in the series to posting a morphed image of skipper Joe Root, Pietersen has not spared even the smallest of opportunities to take a dig at England and its players.
In fact, the 37-year old seems to be so unimpressed with the current English side that even a sublime double century from his former teammate Alastair Cook in the ongoing Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground could not draw a praise from him. Instead, Pietersen went on to launch an extraordinary Twitter tirade in which he claimed the English players were playing for their positions in the team above all else.

It all began when former England wicketkeeper-batsman Alec Stewart took to Twitter to post a tweet, taking a shot at Alastair Cook’s critics.
“Where have all those people gone who have been tweeting Alastair Cook is finished? Never write off world class performers,” the England legend wrote.

The tweet, however, did not go down well with one fan as he wrote:“Pathetic tweet. Too late. Do it under pressure when it matters and i would be impressed.”

An unimpressed Stewart then went on to call the fan clueless.

This is where Pietersen entered the conversation, supporting the fan and reiterating that any performance would not matter now and that the players are playing to save their places.
“He’s not clueless. He’s right! He could score 50000 runs this Test and it doesn’t matter! They’re just playing places!,” the batting legend tweeted.

Earlier, Pietersen, who was dropped from the England team after the 5-0 Ashes whitewash in 2013, had posted another tweet to hit his compatriots with a serious reality check.
Never quite understood the, ‘playing for pride’ when a series is lost.
More like, ‘playing for your place in the team because you’ve lost.’There’s ZERO pride in winning after you’ve lost!
